How Risen Prayer works
A simple place to keep your own prayer list, pray for the men in your group, and let them know you prayed.
"And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God." โ Revelation 8:4
Getting started
How do I sign in?
Type your email and tap Send my code. A 6-digit code comes to your email. Type it in and you're in. There is no password to remember.
The code is good for 15 minutes. If it doesn't show up, check your junk folder.
Will I have to sign in every time?
No. Your phone stays signed in. You only sign in again if you sign out, clear your browser, or go a full year without opening it.
My code never came. Why?
Only men who have been invited can sign in, so the email has to be the exact one you were invited with. Check your junk folder too. Still nothing? Ask the man who started your group to check your email address.
Is there an app to download?
No download needed. It's a website that works like an app. To put the icon on your home screen:
iPhone, Safari: tap the Share button (square with an arrow โฌ), scroll down, tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
iPhone, Firefox: tap the โฐ menu, then Save (or Share), then Add to Home Screen, then Add. Can't find it? Use Safari. It always works.
iPhone, Chrome: tap the Share button โฌ in the address bar, then Add to Home Screen.
Android: tap the โฎ menu, then Add to Home screen.
What should I set up first?
Tap ๐ค Me at the bottom:
- Add your cell number.
- Check Text me my reminders if you want texts. Otherwise everything comes by email.
- Tap Send me a test text, then save 813-996-5230 in your contacts as "Risen Prayer."
The four buttons at the bottom
โ๏ธ Today
What to pray for today: your prayers with a reminder set for today, plus what's new in your groups. Tap ๐ I prayed when you've prayed.
๐ฟ My Prayers
Your own prayer list, private and shared. Tap ๏ผ Add a prayer to add one.
๐ฅ Groups
The groups you belong to, like Man Up. Open one to see the men's prayer requests and who has prayed.
๐ค Me
Your name, cell, texting choices, quiet hours, and sign out.
Prayers
Who can see my prayers?
Private prayers (not posted to a group) are seen by you only. Nobody else can see them, not even the people who run the site.
Group prayers are seen only by the men in that group.
How do I add a prayer?
Tap ๏ผ Add a prayer, or ๏ผ Post a prayer to this group inside a group. Choose who it's for:
- Me: a request for yourself.
- Another man in this group: pick his name.
- Someone else: a wife, a dad, a friend, a coworker.
Add a few words about what to pray for. To keep it to yourself, choose Just me (private).
Can someone else change my prayer?
No. Only the man who posted a prayer can edit it, mark it answered, or remove it. Anyone in the group can post their own.
How long does a group prayer stay up?
30 days, unless you pick another date. A few days before it ends, it shows on your Today page so you can tap Extend 30 days. When it ends, it moves to Past & Answered.
Private prayers stay up until you end them.
God answered a prayer! How do I tell the guys?
Open the prayer and tap ๐ Mark answered. It shows with a ๐ under Past & Answered so the whole group can give thanks.
What does "๐ I prayed" do?
It marks that you prayed today. The group can see who has prayed for each request. On its own, it does not send anyone a text.
Reminders
How do reminders work?
On any prayer, yours or one in your group, choose Remind me: Daily, Weekly (pick the days), or Once. Then pick a time. At that time you get a text (or an email) with the request.
Each man sets his own reminders. Yours don't change anyone else's.
Do reminders follow quiet hours?
No. A reminder always comes at the exact time you chose, even 10 PM or 5 AM.
Letting someone know you prayed
How do I let a man know I prayed for him?
After you tap ๐ I prayed, you'll see Let (his name) know you prayed. Tap it and he gets a text from 813-996-5230:
๐ Your Name prayed for you today. โ Risen Prayer
It's your choice each time. Nothing is sent unless you tap it.
If 10 men pray for me, do I get 10 texts?
Yes. Each man who chooses to let you know sends his own text with his name. Each man can do this once a day per prayer, so no one can send you the same note twice.
Can we let someone outside the group know we prayed?
Yes, if the man who posted it allows it. When he adds a prayer for someone else, he can enter their cell and check Let group members tell them โI prayed for youโ.
Then any man who prays can send them a text from 813-996-5230 with his name. Their phone number stays hidden. Only the man who posted it can see it.
The man who posted it also gets a button to text them from his own phone.
The first text tells them they can reply STOP.
Texts & notices
What texts will I get?
- Your reminders, if you set any.
- New prayer in your group, with a link to set your own reminder. You can turn this off on Me.
- "So-and-so prayed for you", when a man chooses to let you know.
Every text comes from 813-996-5230. No ads, ever.
๐ What are quiet hours?
With Quiet hours on (the setting on Me), new-prayer notices and "prayed for you" texts that come in between 9 PM and 7 AM wait until 7 AM. A note held overnight says "prayed for you last night."
Turn it off if you'd like them any time. Your own reminders are never held.
How do I stop the texts?
Uncheck Text me my reminders on Me, or reply STOP to any text. You'll still get email.
Groups
Can I start my own group?
Yes. Go to ๐ฅ Groups, then Start a group, for your family, a Bible study, or anything else. You'll be able to invite men.
Who can invite or remove people?
The man who started the group. Anyone can leave a group at any time with Leave group.
What if someone posts something that isn't right?
Open the prayer and tap Report this prayer. An administrator reviews it and can hide it, or block someone if needed.
Privacy
Is my information safe?
It's kept on the ministry's own server with a nightly backup. It is never sold or shared, there are no ads, and nothing tracks you. See the full Privacy page.
